Anuvavi Bird Count

About This Project

It was started in Anuvavi Subramaniarkovil near the Thadagam area from Jan 2018 and continues till the present day. The count is conducted mostly on the 3rd Sun of the month by sampling for birds seen and heard in six designated locations. The count usually begins at the foothills around 7:30 AM and ends around 9 AM at the promontory of the temple. Since this temple is located on the face of a hill and surrounded by scrub and second-growth forests, which contain elephants and other wildlife, extreme caution is used while conducting this count.
